Wake Shizutani High School established by Mitsunari Ikeda, the Okayama lord, in 1670, to train and nurture regional leaders. The school not only accepted children from Samurai's but also children from lower-class families and other regions.
This school is a 346-year-old high school boasting the longest history and tradition in Japan. The school currently has a lot of educational activities including 10 school grades and 2 courses of a regular course and a career pursuit course.
